Register for the "Halloween Cemetery Costumes and Cameras" Meetup on Oct 4th!

This event is open to all! The event is sponsored by a Facebook Group, “Halloween Cemetery Costumes and Cameras.”  It is a private Facebook Group, but you are encouraged to join it to get the latest information about the event.  Emil and Elaine are both members of the Group and can also invite you to it.

A testimonial from Emil Powella: “This will be my 8th year and I would never miss it. Fun group of folks and a very relaxed atmosphere. Photographers and models are just there to have some fun. Each year is a new experience as new models come and some of the regulars surprise us with their costume creativity.”

Additional details:

  • Any lenses good for photographing people are good. Something like a 24-105 mm is fine as the models are very cooperative and easy to work with.

  • Flash is fine.

  • Terrain is easy. Wear comfortable shoes as it is brick pathways and some gravel. Running shoes are fine.

  • Arrive early as parking is often tight.

  • It’s free. The models don’t expect a tip.

  • No model release is needed. Our agreement with the models is to give them what we take for their use and we use as we like.

  • Tripod is an option but not really needed.

  • Bug spray is not needed.  Bugs have not been an issue as Oakland is well maintained.

  • A flashlight is not really needed.

  • Regarding carpooling, a couple of days before the event, an e-mail will be sent to those who registered.  Neither of the co-hosts live in Peachtree Corners, but if there are others who want to attend who live in Peachtree Corners, we will put you in touch with each other so you can make  carpool arrangements.

  • Rain date and back up location are Saturday, October 11th at Historic Roswell Cemetery.

This should be a fun event for a good cause with lots of opportunities to practice your photography skills. We hope you will join us!
