Our November Speaker is Daniel Herron and the topic will be "Astrophotography – How to Point Your Camera Up"!
Daniel is an astronomer who loves sharing and teaching his love of astrophotography to others. Or as he calls it "Teaching his future competition.”
If you love to look up at the sky and take photos of the moon, eclipses, stars, constellations, Milky Way, or anything in the magnificent world over our heads, you will enjoy learning some tips from Daniel on how to navigate the sky, and how to make those photos big and sharp!
He will bring some of his big telescopes and other astrophotography gear for you to see. And at the end of his presentation, if the night sky is clear, we will head out to the parking lot at Atlanta Tech Park to try out his telescopes with our own camera bodies.
What will we learn:
What Is Astrophotography?
Equipment
Where to Start
Tripod Astrophotography
Telescope Astrophotography
About Daniel Herron:

Daniel is a member and officer in the Atlanta Astronomy Club. A visual observer at first, he slowly made his way into astrophotography combining his two hobbies of photography and astronomy.
Daniel has had a few of his images published in college textbooks, DVD Astronomy classes, and also selected a Nasa's Astronomy Picture of the day and Earth Science picture of the day. Some of his highlights are imaging the Space Shuttle Launches 2008 and 2012 Transit of Venus, and the 2017 & 2023 & 2024 Solar Eclipses.
