Our March Speaker is Robin Davis and the topic will be "Creating Emotion in Our Photography"!
Join the Peachtree Camera Club for an immersive presentation on “Creating Emotion in Our Photography. As photographers, we know what we experienced when we took a photo, and what was meaningful to us, but how does that translate to our viewing audience?
Visual Language speaks instantly to the Heart’s Mind, faster and clearer than words, and by understanding what is really in our images, our photography can expand and grow. As our awareness deepens, we begin to see extra and often unexpected elements all around us that we can incorporate creatively to make our photographs more interesting to our viewers.
Robin will explore 3 elements that she considers to be visual gifts that are often hiding in plain sight, and she will share her techniques for creating images with mood and feeling.
During Robin’s presentation, you will learn:
Set your intention to create your own visual language
Make photographic decisions that add mood and meaning to your work
Wow your viewers by using visual gifts that are often hiding all around you
About Robin Davis:

Robin began using her Father’s camera around age 5, and was fascinated by her Grandmother’s stories and old photographs that fueled her quest to make images. She is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Georgia, and her studies of Art History on the UGA Studies Abroad Program in Cortona, Italy, deeply influenced her to develop her own approach to the medium of photography.
As both artist and photographer, Robin has researched and worked extensively with a variety of unique photographic techniques, blending tradition with experimentation to achieve painterly and illustrative images. Through her workshops and personal instruction, Robin inspires her students to discover their own photographic style, with in-camera decisions that are the foundation of thoughtful image making.
Robin's one-on-one sessions engage your self-discovery, with simplified methods to express your own photographic quest to the fullest. If you would like more info, just let her know.
Robin has had over 100 exhibitions of her fine art photography, both in the US and abroad, and her work has been featured for Liz Claiborne, Penguin Putnam Publishing, The Coca-Cola Company, The High Museum of Art, Michael C. Carlos Museum/Emory University, The Piedmont Park Conservancy, The Goethe-Institut, Visiting Nurse Health Systems, The Atlanta Shakespeare Company, Bellagio Las Vegas, Bloomingdales, St. Martin's Press, Buckhead Pizza Company, St. Regis Hotels, The Omni William Penn Hotel, Villa Severina, and in numerous private and international collections.
