Our July Speaker is Larry Marchant and the topic will be “In Search of Light”!
Larry will discuss his journey through photojournalism, fashion/glamour, travel/resort, advertising photography, and the world of fine art. He will describe the primary types of photography and how different photographers approach an image.
What will we learn:
Come and learn the 10 keys to successfully capturing the spirit of each discipline of photography.
About Larry Marchant:
Larry studied Fine Art and Graphic Design at the University of Southern Mississippi before beginning his career as an Art Director in Atlanta. Exchanging the pen for the camera, Larry became an award-winning photojournalist helping his department win several national awards.

New York’s Federated Department Stores then recruited Larry to head their Atlanta Fashion Photography Studio as part of their Macy’s southeastern expansion. Marchant Productions was later created, where he has produced award winning photography and video projects for such international clients as ResortQuest International, Coca-Cola and Russell Athletic Sportswear.
His advertising and editorial work have now been published across Europe, Asia, Australia, as well as North and South America, and in such magazines as Vogue, Playboy, and Conde Naste.
Larry recently won two Golden ADDY awards from the American Advertising Federation for
‘Best Photography Campaign’ and ‘Best Book Design’ for the 260-page celebrity coffee table book which he photographed, designed and produced.
As a fine art photographer, his work is now being collected and exhibited in galleries and
museums across Italy and America including The Smithsonian affiliated Booth Museum, the High Museum of Art. Italy’s premier photography magazine, imageMAG Magazine out of Milan, recently interviewed Larry for the magazine’s feature article on his work.
