November 20, 2022: “Light Is Hope" Juried Exhibition|Call for Photos

Updated: Oct 23, 2022

Submit your photos for the "Light Is Hope" Photo Exhibition by November 20th!

The Peachtree Corners Photography Club is going to have its own Photo Exhibition! We’ll have a Call for Entries with the theme “Light Is Hope,” and our outside judge(s) will select up to 100 photos to include. The selected images will be printed and displayed in the Peachtree Corners Branch of the library for most of 2023.

We will have a Juror’s Talk when the Exhibition opens in January, and an Artists’ Talk Open House in February where you can share the background and stories of your photos.

Entry Rules

  • Participation in the "Light Is Hope" Juried Exhibition of The Peachtree Corners Photography Club (PCPC) is open to anyone of any age who lives in the State of Georgia.

  • Each person may submit up to five (5) digital images for consideration by the judges. The image must be a .jpg between 2-4 MB.

  • Images must be appropriate for all ages, and must be the work of the photographer, including all post-processing. The images may have been taken anywhere at any time. The images may have compositing, but all elements used in the image must be photographically based.

  • Membership in PCPC is not required, although it is highly recommended. Join here. The membership fee for the remainder of 2022 is $15.00, and affords a host of benefits outlined here. (Dues will renew in January, 2023 at $35/year for an individual, and $20 for a second person at the same address.)

  • The fee per submitted image is $5. For paid members of the Club at the time of submission, the fee is reduced to $3 as a benefit of membership. Members whose images are selected will receive a special "Member" designation in the Exhibition.

  • Photographers with winning entries will be asked to submit a high-resolution file suitable for printing (at no cost to the artist) after the judging is complete.

  • Call for Entries will be open from Sunday, October 16th to Sunday, November 20th.

Judging

  • The entries will be judged by non-member photographers with accomplished photography backgrounds and expertise in varied genres.

  • The entries will be anonymous to avoid any judging bias.

  • The judges will choose the entries to include in the Exhibition based on overall visual impact and fit with the theme.

  • Photographers whose work is chosen will be notified of their winning entries in early December.

The Exhibit

  • The selected images will be printed and displayed in the Peachtree Corners Library beginning in January, 2023. They will also be displayed in a virtual Gallery on the PCPC website, and possibly in a printed booklet as well.

  • A Juror’s Talk will be held at the Library on or about Saturday, January 14, 2023, and an Artists’ Talk Open House will be held on or about Saturday, February 4, 2023.

Disclaimers

  • The artist retains all copyrights on submitted images and gives permission to PCPC to make prints of the selected images and to use the digital versions in a virtual Gallery on the PCPC website.

  • The Peachtree Corners Photography Club will own the prints of the images made for the exhibition and reserves the right to use accepted images for marketing purposes related to the Exhibition.

  • The decisions of the judges are final.
