Let's explore McDaniel Farm Park!
Come one, come all to Peachtree Corners Photography Club's first meetup for 2022. This meetup is open to Members and Non-Members of Peachtree Corners Photography Club. We will meet at 9am sharp on Saturday February 19th at McDaniel Farm Park in Duluth, Georgia.
Location: McDaniel Farm Park
Address: 3251 McDaniel Road | Duluth, GA 30096
Date: Saturday February 19, 2022
Time: 9 am
If you have never been to this hidden gem you are in for a treat. You will see information about the park from the Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation website below:
"This former cotton farm is relatively unchanged since its drawing in the 1820 land lottery. In the early 1900s, it was a thriving farm. In later years the farm housed sharecroppers and experienced the struggles of the Great Depression and the boll weevil. This story comes to life in the property’s original barn, well house, chicken coup, blacksmith shed and restored tenant farmer house."
You will also see other family friendly amenities like nature trails, blacksmith shed, dog park area and more. You will encounter everything from rusty farm implements to what is left of an old rusted vehicle in the woods as well as outbuildings that were typically used in the 1800s.
You will be able to use a variety of lenses on this adventure but they are not required. You will get plenty of practice using a macro, zoom, and wide angles. You will be able to capture amazing photos using a tilt shift. Bring your gear and let's have fun!
The park is located at: McDaniel Farm Park, 3251 McDaniel Rd Duluth, Ga 30096. See Google Maps.
Easiest way to the park from Peachtree Corners is to head NORTH on Peachtree Industrial Blvd. At Pleasant Hill Rd turn RIGHT. You will pass under the Hwy 23 (Buford Hwy) underpass. Continue on Pleasant Hill Rd until you reach Old Norcross Rd (next to Micro Center) turn LEFT onto Old Norcross Rd and then turn LEFT onto McDaniel Rd (next to Land Rover Dealership). Continue to the parking lot.
This meetup will be led by Elaine Bullard.
I look forward to meeting each of you and everyone of you.
