Join us for the August Technical Webinar: "The Everglades – America’s Subtropical Wetland" with Robert L. Chaplin!

Join us for the August Technical webinar on August 25, 2026 at 6:30 pm on Zoom. The Everglades is more than a National Park; it is a 4,300-square-mile wetland ecosystem with headwaters that start with Shingle Creek in Kissimmee, Florida.

From Shingle Creek to Florida Bay, the Everglades is the largest subtropical wilderness in the United States. This wetland is known for its birds and wildlife, but there is so much more to this vast and unique landscape, from spectacular sunrises and sunsets and endangered plants and animals to wondrous landscapes.

In this talk, Robert will share the challenges of the Everglades and the tools he uses. He will

also share his favorite places to shoot, including his thought process and philosophy in photographing this rare and unique landscape.

Join this talk as Robert takes us from the technical to the artistry of this unique land.

In his talk, Robert will share:

  • The photography equipment he uses.

  • The ancillary equipment he uses.

  • The best time of day (spoiler, it’s not what you have heard or what you have been told).

  • Ideas for finding your voice/style.

  • His approach to camera settings.

  • The importance of shooting with processing in mind.
